This is for a my friends niece. She asked me to make her a baby blanket to give to her as a gift. I got the pattern here and used 4 skeins of Simply Soft together and size 15 needles.
Since you've used this pattern maybe you can help me. Does the YO really mean 'make one stitch,' cause I can't figure out how to increase. It's a lovely blanket, I just wish I could make it!

Hi CK, The YO ends up making a hole and yes, increasing. Here's a good tutorial for doing a YO and thanks for the compliment. :-)
