Dishcloths
Another couple of dishcloths for an exchange. I love the bright green.
A friend asked me to make two dishcloths and two potholders for her sister for last Christmas. Her kitchen is dark red, dark green, and yellow. The yellow sort of looks white in the picture but it's really yellow. On the left, dishcloths. On the right, potholders.
Last year my friend Cindy thought that that it would be nice to have a long potholder. She didn't know that I'd take her idea to heart and make her one. This is Cindy's Christmas gift. A very long potholder so she can use two hands with three dishcloths to match.
This year she'll get a dishtowel and two more dishcloths to match.
I found this pattern here. I've always wanted to try entrelac and this garterlac dishcloth was the best thing to learn on.

Another cloth. The fun thing about dishcloths is I that can always learn a new technique. :-)
And while you're learning how to do a ballband cloth, may as well do a wristband for my son:

Round baby blanket
This is for a my friends niece. She asked me to make her a baby blanket to give to her as a gift. I got the pattern here and used 4 skeins of Simply Soft together and size 15 needles.
Hats and Scarves
Center Square Hat - This is my first attempt at color stranding. It was really fun and fast to knit. I got the pattern here. It will go to the capsforacure Yahoo group.These hats are for this group. They were easy and fun to make and it's always nice when you know that they are so very much needed.
My friend from Utah came to visit me Christmas night. I forgot I promised her a scarf so I knit this one up Christmas afternoon. :-)
This was for a Christmas Exchange. It was my first cable adventure. I used this pattern.
I liked doing the blue one so much that I made this one for a friend for Christmas. It's the Irish Hiking Scarf with an extra cable column. It knit up so fast. She lives where it snows so I made it double thick using two balls of Wool Ease at one time. It's pretty cozy.
Marlene would like somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 scarves although she won't admit it. Here's another of hers.Another Christmas gift.

Lavender baby blanket
Grandma's Favorite Dishcloth pattern was used for this blanket. Finished size: 3'x3'Harry Bear
I couldn't just make one. Aren't these just so cute. I found the pattern here.I used Bernat Boucle instead of the Chinchilla yarn the pattern called for.
Cell cover
A friend of mine was going to buy a knitted cell cover online. I couldn't stand the idea of her paying for it PLUS shipping so I made her one. She loves it. :-)
Kitchen towel
I've always wanted to make a kitchen towel although I have no idea why. Maybe because I hadn't done one. Well, here it is in all it's pink glory.
Mommy's blankie
No matter where I take the picture it doesn't look good. It's a lot prettier in person. It's a lap blanket, good for sitting on the couch in the winter and watching TV. It's forest green and beige.
Auntie's blanket
I haven't made a blanket for awhile so here it is. The afghan is checkerboard although you can't really tell and I noticed when it was done that the dye lots did not look the same although they were the same number. Oh well, it gives it character and really who's going to notice any flaw but me or another knitter. It is really cozy and I had a great time making it. Finished size: 4'x5.5'

The family
These were knit last year. All of these have found new homes (except for the red one that my son wanted to keep) but I wanted to take a picture before they went their separate ways. I got the pattern here.
Flamingos and such
This is a gift from a friend of mine to her SIL. Her SIL collects flamingos and has her bathroom full of them. I'm not sure if they've spilled out all over the house. It can be hung on the wall or used as a hand towel.
The dishcloth is from the MonthlyDishcloth KAL group on yahoo and the socks are from The EasySocks group on yahoo. They were my first pair of toe up socks and although they're a bit thick I love them.
Baby gift
I thought this would be a cute gift for a pregnant friend. It looks like a yellow bat in the picture but it does look less bat-like in person. Pattern can be found here.
My friend saw the bunny blankie and fell in love. She has an 18 month old daughter and she said that Brooke NEEDED one. Needless to say, who am I to deny Brooke anything so here it is.
Christmas Stocking
Here is stocking #1 for son #1. It's my first Christmas stocking and I think it came out pretty good. I'm going to make a matching one for son #2. :-)
