Knitters Tea Swap
My Knitters Tea Swap package arrived today and I couldn't believe how heavy and full it was. There was:
Numi Assorted Melange Tea, Tazo Chai (one of my all time favorites), Revolution variety teas (10 different flavors to try), Pecan Pralines, German Black Forest Truffles (oh yummmmm), North Carolina Bone Suckin’ Bar-b-que Sauce, an assortment of beautiful Moravian Handbaked cookies, Nonni’s dark chocolate biscotti, Tofutsies sock yarn which I've always wanted to try, Koigu sock yarn - another one I've never tried, a tea bag holder, white tea and ginger hand lotion - that smells good enough to eat, and a pattern for a Koigu Neck Cozy.
I was so thrilled with each and every one. Trish, you're the best!!!Monday, June 11, 2007

Felting....... gotta love it
Rebuilding Kansas one block at a time
A lady in Kansas is getting 8 inch blocks together to make afghans for the survivors of the tornado. I have tons of worsted yarn just sitting there and I think blocks will be a good use for it.
All the info is on her blog regarding the squares if anyone has extra yarn and time.
These are the blocks that I finished so far. They knit up in no time and it's a great way to use up stash.
Dishcloths
Another couple of dishcloths for an exchange. I love the bright green.
A friend asked me to make two dishcloths and two potholders for her sister for last Christmas. Her kitchen is dark red, dark green, and yellow. The yellow sort of looks white in the picture but it's really yellow. On the left, dishcloths. On the right, potholders.
Last year my friend Cindy thought that that it would be nice to have a long potholder. She didn't know that I'd take her idea to heart and make her one. This is Cindy's Christmas gift. A very long potholder so she can use two hands with three dishcloths to match.
This year she'll get a dishtowel and two more dishcloths to match.
I found this pattern here. I've always wanted to try entrelac and this garterlac dishcloth was the best thing to learn on.
Purple!!!
Another cloth. The fun thing about dishcloths is I that can always learn a new technique. :-)
And while you're learning how to do a ballband cloth, may as well do a wristband for my son:
Rose dishcloth.

Round baby blanket
This is for a my friends niece. She asked me to make her a baby blanket to give to her as a gift. I got the pattern here and used 4 skeins of Simply Soft together and size 15 needles.
Hats and Scarves
Center Square Hat - This is my first attempt at color stranding. It was really fun and fast to knit. I got the pattern here. It will go to the capsforacure Yahoo group.
These hats are for this group. They were easy and fun to make and it's always nice when you know that they are so very much needed.
My friend from Utah came to visit me Christmas night. I forgot I promised her a scarf so I knit this one up Christmas afternoon. :-)
This was for a Christmas Exchange. It was my first cable adventure. I used this pattern.
I liked doing the blue one so much that I made this one for a friend for Christmas. It's the Irish Hiking Scarf with an extra cable column. It knit up so fast. She lives where it snows so I made it double thick using two balls of Wool Ease at one time. It's pretty cozy.
Marlene would like somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 scarves although she won't admit it. Here's another of hers.
Another Christmas gift. This is for my friend Kathy in Oregon.
I knitted this scarf for this project: http://www.orphan.org/docs/OFARedScarfFlyerFinal.pdf
Some chemo caps for capsforacure@yahoogroups.com
The caps on the left are Chemo caps for the Caps for a Cure group on Yahoo.
The caps on the right are some preemie caps for StitchesFromTheHeart.org
Another chemo cap, pattern here. I used Bernat Boucle. I love making these. They are so needed and they're a quick knit. :-)

Each person tagged gives 7 random facts about themselves. Those tagged need to write in their blogs the 7 facts, as well as the rules of the game. You need to tag 7 others and list their names on your blog. You have to leave those you plan on tagging a note in their comments so they know that they have been tagged and to read your blog.

I'm not tagging anyone because I think at this point it's made its rounds. :-)
